2026 - The Confirmation class welcomed Debbie Bloomfield from Upper Downriver Right to LIfe to discuss Respect Life month which is celebrated during October each year.

The students learned that a new, unique human life begins at conception.  Each person is created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). The students learned that in Michigan, a child can be aborted (killed) at any time up until birth for no reason. They held lifesize models of different ages of babies in utero. Each student in the class received a baby model the size of 10 weeks after conception.

Pro-Life groups offer help to mothers who need support so that they can birth their babies and have what is needed to care for them. The class visited the memorial monument to the unborn in front of the Rectory, where they prayed together for mothers, fathers, babies and families.  It was donated in 1997 by the Knights of Columbus.

The students will help with a Life Saver drive to raise funds to carry on the educational efforts of Upper Downriver Right to Life.  They will offer Life Savers and accept donations before and after Masses the weekend of October 17 and 18.  You can be a Life Saver too!
