Photos | UDMI RTL Ads Photos Videos 2026 - The Confirmation class welcomed Debbie Bloomfield from Upper Downriver Right to LIfe to discuss Respect Life month which is celebrated during October each year. The students learned that a new, unique human life begins at conception. Each person is created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). The students learned that in Michigan, a child can be aborted (killed) at any time up until birth for no reason. They held lifesize models of different ages of babies in utero. Each student in the class received a baby model the size of 10 weeks after conception. Pro-Life groups offer help to mothers who need support so that they can birth their babies and have what is needed to care for them. The class visited the memorial monument to the unborn in front of the Rectory, where they prayed together for mothers, fathers, babies and families. It was donated in 1997 by the Knights of Columbus. The students will help with a Life Saver drive to raise funds to carry on the educational efforts of Upper Downriver Right to Life. They will offer Life Savers and accept donations before and after Masses the weekend of October 17 and 18. You can be a Life Saver too! News: Abortion Pill Protest March 2024 | UD-MI RTL Abortion Pills News/Update : On March 26 the Supreme Court heard arguments regarding the FDA regulations of chemical abortion pill distribution. Will they allow the continued tele-medicine prescriptions with no doctor visit for the mother? These deadly pill combinations (mifepristone and misoprostol) always kill the baby and up to 25% of the time mothers have complications which have sometimes led to death. Be sure to know the abortion reversal hotline 877-558-0333 or abortionpillreversal.com . Also on Tuesday March 26 Downriver volunteers participated in the nationwide protest with prayers at CVS and Walgreens in Wyandotte. We need as many people as possible to let our local pharmacies know that they should be places providing medicine to heal, not providing poison and death for innocent unborn children.
